Hi everyone and welcome to Travel Autistic!
I’m Maria, an autistic woman who is passionate about accessible travel. I believe that anyone who wants to travel should be able to and too many autistic people and parents or carers of autistic children are unable to because of unnecessary barriers.
While I can’t make travel accessible for everyone, I wanted to do something (even if it’s small) to help make travel more accessible for autistic people and that’s where the idea for travel autistic came from.
Whenever I travel I do a lot of research and planning but while there is lots of great information available, I often find it doesn’t include all the things I need as an autistic traveler.
Travel autistic will include information and guides to help prepare autistic people for trips. I already have an autistic guide to London published on the website, some information about cruising and a few port guides. The website will be updated regularly and if you want to be updated as the website is, please subscribe to this blog.
Although this website centres autistic experiences, everyone is welcome here.
To celebrate the launch of Travel Autistic I’m giving away a Travel Necklace. Click the link below to enter.
